The department of Santander, in Colombia, has been under a terrible wave of violence in recent weeks, so operations have been deployed to stop it. In one of them, the Magdalena Medio Police managed to capture a woman known as “The Doll”accused of being involved in multiple homicides that occurred in that city, according to BluRadio.
His capture “represents progress in investigations related to criminal organizations operating in the region,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mauricio Herrera, commander of the Magdalena Medio Police.
“Two people have been captured, including alias ‘La Muñeca’ and alias ‘Leopoldo’, and the arrest of a minor who was found in possession of two firearms. At this moment, the weapons are being subjected to a ballistic identification process to determine if they are participants in the latest events affecting citizens here in the city of Barrancabermeja,” he added.
Various crimes have shocked Santander, among which stands out Deyvy Jesús García Palominowhom he allegedly summoned and then took to a secluded place to kill him. “La Muñeca” would have located Deyvy’s whereabouts and would have communicated it to the crime coordinators, for a sum of 4 million Colombian pesos, equivalent to $899.
Key piece of criminal organization
Intelligence sources reported that alias “La Muñeca” was a key player in a criminal organization that operated with a sophisticated modus operandi, using high-caliber firearms and local connections to carry out its crimes.
“La Muñeca”, an attractive young woman of only 23 years old, was the most “feared” hitwoman in all of Santander, according to journalist Jacobo Solano Cerchiaro. In addition to being involved in several homicides, is suspected of leading a network specialized in settling scores.
The criminal was allegedly in charge of summoning her victims to resolve money conflicts and there she ambushed them, according to the newspaper Metro, which is why she was a priority objective of the police.
Bucaramanga has become one of the Colombian cities with the highest homicide rates, reporting approximately one homicide every three days.
The authorities explained that the main causes of the crimes include street fights, settling scores and domestic violence. “With the capture of ‘La Muñeca’ and ‘Leopoldo’, tranquility is generated in the region. These arrests mark progress in the dismantling of criminal structures responsible for the recent homicides,” said Officer Herrera.
