Actors Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are friends, colleagues and about to become family.

Eric Murphyson of the iconic actor, just got engaged to Jasmine Lawrencedaughter of the also renowned comedian.

The news was shared by the couple through an emotional video on their social networks on November 30, which captured the magical moment in which Eric asked Jasmin to marry him. The scene was accompanied by the song “Spend My Life With You” by Eric Benét, and showed how Eric prepared a romantic atmosphere full of candles and rose petals, creating the perfect setting for his proposal.

Jasmin, visibly moved, did not hesitate to say “yes” when she saw the ring, while expressing how beautiful the moment felt. The couple shared in the Instagram post: “We are committed! God has blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. “We are very excited about this new chapter in our lives,” also adding a thank you to everyone who made this moment so special.

When did the romance begin?

Although Eric and Jasmin’s relationship became public in June 2021, when they both shared messages of love and support for each other on their social networks, their bond began in a more discreet way. Jasmin revealed in an interview with InTouch Weekly that it wasn’t her father or Eric’s who brought them together, but rather her uncle, who introduced them. From there, both began to strengthen a relationship that has grown over time and now culminates in this commitment.

It is interesting how the destinies of the children of two great Hollywood comedians have become intertwined, since Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence shared the screen for the first time in the hit film “Boomerang” (1992) and later in “Life” (1999) . The friendship of both actors, which dates back more than three decades, has been an inspiration for new generations, and now their children continue this legacy.

Jokes between ‘in-laws’

As for the future wedding, Martin Lawrence has already joked on several occasions about who should pay for it, pointing to his friend Eddie as the one responsible for financing it. Meanwhile, Eddie Murphy, when asked about the possibility, did not hesitate to remind Martin that traditions must take their course, and the “father of the bride” is always the one who pays.

With this commitment, Eric and Jasmin are not only consolidating their love, but they are also creating an even stronger bond between two families that have left their mark on the history of cinema and comedy.
