The elected president donald trump has chosen Charles Kushnerthe father of his son-in-law Jared Kushnerto serve as the next US ambassador to France.

Trump on Saturday described Charles Kushner as a highly successful business leader, philanthropist and dealmaker with extensive experience in real estate.

“I am pleased to nominate Charles Kushner of New Jersey to serve as United States Ambassador to France. “He is a great business leader, philanthropist and negotiator, who will be a firm defender of our country and its interests,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

Charles Kushner is the founder of the real estate company Kushner Companies and father of Jared Kushner, who is married to Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, and who was also one of the Republican’s main advisors in his first government (2017-2021). ).

In 2005, Kushner Sr. pleaded guilty to charges of tax evasion and other crimes. and was sentenced to two years in prison after a trial in which prosecutors alleged that the now Trump nominee hatched a plan of revenge and intimidation against his brother-in-law, William Schulder, when he discovered that he was cooperating in the case with federal authorities.

The case was heard in a New Jersey court and the prosecutor in charge of the process was Chris Christie, who would later become governor of this state and later a pre-candidate for the White House for the Republican Party.

Charles Kushner was pardoned by Trump in December 2020.

Jared Kushner, who moved with Ivanka and the couple’s children to Miami, Florida, after the end of Trump’s first term, indicated months ago that he did not plan to take on any position within the next administration of the Republican, who will assume the Presidency next January 20.
