Lionel Messi did not miss the opportunity to give an emotional congratulations to the FC Barcelona in the midst of the celebration of its 125 years of history, ensuring that it has been a “pride” to have formed and be part of the history of a “special club.”
In the recent interview that the Argentine star gave to TV3, he took the opportunity to remember what his time at the Catalan club was like and the meaning that having formed in the Barça team that is currently experiencing a great moment has had beyond the sporting aspect in his life.
“Congratulations to FC Barcelona on its 125th anniversary. For me it is a great pride to be part of it and also to be another fan of the club”began his emotional message for the Barça team where he lived a spectacular era that marked the history of world football.
“It is a special club, different from the others. “I was very lucky that God took me to Barcelona and I was able to spend my entire life in this wonderful club.”added the team’s all-time top scorer after having played between 2004 and 2021 when he left for Paris Saint-Germain.
“I grew up in La Masía since I was 13 years old with the values that they taught me there. “My experience there was crucial and shaped me as the player and person I am.”recognized the world champion with the Argentina National Team in Qatar 2022.
Lionel Messi, current star of Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, also recalled some epic moments from his time at the Catalan club that celebrates its 125 years of history in which the Argentine star has been a fundamental piece.
“The year of the ‘sextet’ was incredible, we enjoyed it every day, whether in training or in a game. We knew how the games were going to end, not because of arrogance but because of the great confidence we had. “We were sure we were going to win.”recalled the 37-year-old from Rosario.
That moment that Messi refers to is in 2009, when under the command of Pep Guardiola, they experienced the peak of FC Barcelona’s best moment, having won LaLiga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, the Super Cup of Europe and the Club World Cup.
“I feel Catalan and I miss Barcelona very much. Nobody knows what the future holds for us but my intention is to live in Barcelona again because it is our home.”the Argentine star closed, leaving open the possibility of his return to the city where he became a mega star.
