A strange letter attributed to Ryan Wesley Rouththe man arrested for allegedly trying to shoot Donald Trump with a rifle began to spread.
The 58-year-old subject that on September 15 he was detained by authorities after being discovered pointing a rifle at the current president-elect hiding behind a line of trees near the sixth green of a golf course in Florida, grabbed attention again, this time for sending a letter where He explains his political beliefs and even compares himself to Thomas Matthew Crooks, author of the first attempt to assassinate the New York tycoon.
Initially, the four-page text was disseminated by Ankush Khardori, former federal prosecutor and editor of the website Politico, to whom the prisoner sent it.
Throughout most of the writing, Routh refers to himself as the “alleged Trump shooter.”
However, in a certain part of the letter, The North Carolina man compares himself to the student executed by the authorities in Butler, Pennsylvania, after being discovered shooting Trump up to seven times.
Ryan Wesley Routh claims that both had been “willing to die for freedom and democracy.”
“I’m not sure how we got carried away with a two-party system, but it infuriates me. My entire life has been plagued by Democrats and Republicans.
“It seems like not long ago there was a push for the Libertarian Party and now a Green Party and maybe the Truth Party, but for some reason our leaders have not allowed any other party to be recognized in any race,” he wrote .
Routh also called Trump a serious threat to democracy and criticized his decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, accusing him of creating chaos in the Middle East.
A few days ago, Judge Aileen Cannon announced that the trial against Ryan Wesley Routh will last two weeks and will begin on February 10.
In this regard, the person involved maintains his position of declaring not guilty of the accusations against him and for which, if proven, he could be sentenced to a long prison sentence.
