“That is, you feel that the people of my country and the other countries mentioned do not have a significant vote because we are inferior people”added the Namibian journalist who left out Vinícius Júnior among his picks, which were Jude Bellingham, Rodri and Lamine Yamal, in that order.
“I would just like to know, if I were from a major football nation and I didn’t agree with your opinion, what would your argument be?”asked Sheefeni Nikodemus who writes for The Namibian, one of the main newspapers in that African country.
Journalists from Namibia, Finland and El Salvador did not include Vinícius Júnior in their votes for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award, in which there had been talk for several months that the Brazilian would be the winner, something that radically changed hours before the ceremony on October 28.

The president of Real Madrid spoke this Sunday for the first time in public about the voting for the 2024 Ballon d’Or that the Spanish Rodri ended up winning over Vinícius Júnior, ensuring among other things that the presence of journalists from small countries affected the Brazilian. .
