The worst possible scenario materialized after Vinícius Júnior finished Sunday’s game with physical discomfort when the real Madrid confirmed this Monday that the Brazilian star has an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg, which leaves him out of the match against Liverpool.
The current Champions League champion will be facing the English team this Wednesday at Anfield for the European championship where they urgently need a victory after having suffered a couple of defeats in four games played so far.
“After the tests carried out today on our player Vinícius Júnior by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg”announced the merengue team who added that his return will be determined by the evolution of his injury.
In the Spanish media it was reported that Vinícius Júnior’s absence could last for up to three weeks depending on how his recovery is carried out, which further complicates the situation for Real Madrid, which continues to add names to the injured list.
In addition to Vinícius Júnior, Real Madrid has added key players to its infirmary this season, such as Dani Carvajal, Éder Militao, Lucas Vásquez, Aurelien Tchouaméni and Rodrygo, in addition to David Alaba, who has suffered a serious knee injury since last season.
