Mohamed Salah, one of Liverpool’s most iconic figures in the last decade, has hinted at an uncertain future at the club after publicly admitting his disappointment for not having received a renewal offer.
The 32-year-old Egyptian striker contract ends next June and, until now, the Anfield club He has shown no signs of wanting to keep him.
“I’m more outside than inside. I have not received any proposals. “We are almost in December and I have not received any offer to stay at the club,” Salah told NBC after the ‘Reds’ victory against Southampton last Sunday.
The situation creates uncertainty not only for fans, but also for a team that could face the loss of other pillars, such as Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts also expire in the coming months.
However, Salah has made it clear that his focus remains on performance on the pitch. “I’m not going to retire, so I’m still playing, focused on this season and trying to win the Premier League and the Champions League. “I’m disappointed, but we’ll see what happens,” he added.
Salah leads Liverpool in attack
With 10 goals and six assists so far in the Premier League, Salah not only leads his team’s offensive statistics, but also establishes himself as the most productive player in the league.
His 223 goals and 99 assists in 367 games since he arrived in 2017 have made him a Liverpool legend, being key in winning the Premier League in 2020 and the Champions League in 2019.
The outcome of this story could mark the end of a golden era at Anfield. The next few months will be crucial to know if Salah will continue wearing the red shirt or will look for a new destination to continue his brilliant career.
Meanwhile, the forward continues doing what he does best: scoring goals and leading Liverpool in their quest for titles.
