The wait is finally over for Hirving “Chucky” Lozano who returned to action after a long absence due to physical problems in the victory achieved on Saturday by PSV Eindhoven over Groningen (5-0) in the Dutch championship.
The Eredivisie leaders had no problem resuming action after the break due to the FIFA double date with a resounding victory in which the experienced Mexican forward was able to enjoy some minutes of play in the final stretch of the match.
“Chucky” Lozano, who began the duel on the substitute bench, ended up entering the 82nd minute, taking the place of Croatian Iván Perisic, thus completing his return to the field after almost three months out due to a muscle injury.
The Aztec attacker was injured during a friendly match that PSV played against Belgian side Genk last September during a FIFA break. The muscle injury suffered by “Chucky” Lozano lasted longer than expected and he was finally able to play again this Saturday.
The return of the Mexican was expected in the Eindhoven team after what was the striker’s great start to the season, scoring four goals and taking over the starting role in the team led by Peter Bosz, who was satisfied to be able to count on him again. Chucky” Lozano.
However, it must be remembered that the Mexican will be with PSV Eindhoven until the end of this year before beginning his new professional challenge at San Diego FC, a team that will be making its debut in the MLS starting in 2025 and that has the Mexican as its main figure.
Ricardo Pepi excelled with a hat-trick
The American forward of Mexican origin was the great figure of the victory achieved by PSV Eindhoven this Saturday against Groningen (5-0) by scoring three goals, showing that he is going through a great moment and that he wants to be taken more into account in the current Eredivisie champion.
Ricardo Pepi, who is taking advantage of the absence due to injury of captain Luuk de Jong, was present on the scoreboard at minutes 37, 64 and 78 to carry a large part of PSV’s offensive in which Olivier Boscagli also shook the nets ( m.14) and Guus Til (m.52).
With this new victory, PSV Eindhoven consolidates its position at the top of the Eredivisie standings, where it has a record of 12 wins without draws and just one defeat for a total of 36 points, eight more than its closest pursuer, Utrecht, which was playing this Sunday their match against NEC.
