FC Barcelona will not be able to count on Lamine Yamal for this Saturday’s match against Celta de Vigo in Balaídos.

This was confirmed this Friday by coach Hansi Flick, who pointed out that the young forward, suffering from an injury to his right ankle, will not return to activity until he is “100%” recovered.

“The important thing is that he returns to 100%. I will ask the team tomorrow if it is a challenge to win without Lamine”commented Flick in a brief press conference held at the Joan Gamper Sports City.

The German coach downplayed Yamal’s absence in the last league defeat against Real Sociedad (1-0) and highlighted that the team has resources to make up for the loss of one of its most important players.

“We are a little limited without Lamine, but there is quality and players who can play in various positions,” he stated.

Regarding the medical news, Flick announced that Gavi, who has already gained minutes after overcoming a serious knee injury, is ready to start.

In addition, he revealed that Ronald Araújo will return to training this Sunday after his recovery from an operation on the hamstring tendon.

For his part, Andreas Christensen recently underwent a small intervention to relieve discomfort in his Achilles tendon.

Barcelona seeks to maintain leadership in Balaídos

The coach also took the opportunity to express his optimism ahead of the duel in Balaídos, where he hopes the team will return strongly after the national team break.

“It will be a good game, we have to show that we can compete regardless of the absences,” he stressed.

Finally, Flick celebrated Lionel Messi’s words of praise for Barcelona’s current game.

“It is an honor to hear the best player in history saying that he likes this Barça. “That means a lot for the young people and for the team.”he concluded.

Barcelona will face the match against Celta with the challenge of overcoming the losses and maintaining the pace in La Liga. Lamine Yamal’s absence will be a test for Flick’s side, who will look to demonstrate their strength without their young star on the field.
