Mike Tyson reveals why he slapped Jake Paul at weigh-in

The long-awaited fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul caused a stir after Tyson slapped Paul in the pre-fight pass in Arlington.

The incident occurred when Paul apparently stepped on Tyson’s foot, who was wearing only socks, while he was wearing shoes.

Tyson, visibly upset, claimed that Paul’s action might not have been accidental. “He stepped on my foot because he’s a fucking moron,” Tyson told the New York Post after the incident.

“I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it could have been on purpose.” said the 58-year-old boxer.

The former world champion, known for his explosive temperament in his golden years in the ring, explained that the pain caused by the stomp led him to react with the slap.

“I felt a lot of pain. “I had to reciprocate,” he added. alluding to the aggression with which he hit the young provocateur back.

Jake Paul downplayed Tyson’s slap

For his part, Jake Paul downplayed the incident and, in a defiant tone, minimized Tyson’s blow.

“I didn’t even feel the blow. The guy is angry and now this has become a personal matter. He must die,” said Paul, with the arrogance that characterizes him.

The YouTuber’s provocative attitude is not new, since he has been “bothering the bear,” as a Tyson representative said, throughout the entire preparation process for this fight.

Tyson, who has been retired from professional boxing for almost 20 years, has shown great physical shape for his age and is determined to prove that he still has what it takes to compete in the ring.

The fight between the veteran boxer and the young Paul has caused controversy among boxing fans. Some see it as an absurd exhibition, while others are captivated by the morbidity of seeing a Tyson who seems intact against a much younger and more provocative rival.

As for the fight, Paul warned at the weigh-in that his intention was to knock out Tyson. Faced with this challenge, Tyson, with his usual calm, responded:

“I’m calm. “He’s in trouble.” The tension continues to rise, and now, with the incident at the weigh-in, the morbidity of this duel seems to have reached its peak.
