The judges scored the fight 80-72, 80-72, 79-73 in favor of “El Gallo” Paul before more than 72,000 spectators in Arlington, Texas. Tyson, the man who decades ago was the most feared in boxing, barely managed to land 18 punches in the fight according to the statistics shown in the broadcast.

The show held at the Dallas Cowboys stadium and was broadcast exclusively on Netflix via streaming presented many technical problems for users, specifically because the image constantly froze.

Despite his poor showing, which was to be expected against a man 31 years his junior, Tyson said in the ring that he might be able to fight again depending on the situation. His intention against Paul was seen, but his body simply did not allow him to offer more.

The passive fight contrasted with the brutal women’s war between the Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano and the Irish Katie Taylor, who was the co-star of the night, with a controversial decision victory in favor of Taylor.

Mike Tyson started fast, but soon faded

Tyson came out with everything in the first round, always looking impressive and even fast, but Paul dedicated himself to hugging and then landed the best blow of the round, a right cross. It is worth mentioning that the rounds were two minutes according to the special rules agreed for the event.

In the second round the activity dropped to a lower level and the most interesting thing was that Tyson constantly bit the tip of his left gloveHis waist movements looked exaggerated, even without Paul throwing punches.

And then came the third round. Tyson showed all his 58 years of age in the ring there. Paul connected with some hooks to the head and the legend did not have a good reaction; He looked dazed and unwell. After which, his little activity in the fourth round was explainable, although he also protected himself better.

Tyson couldn’t find his way in the seventh, when Paul landed a good right-left-right combination near the end. And finally, a round 8 in which Paul easily dominated against a man with nothing else to offer and whom he clearly did not want to hurt anymore.

Jake Paul honored Tyson with a caravan in the final seconds of the fight and when the bell rang they embraced each other emotionally.

After an initial show by the Cowboys cheerleaders and the United States national anthem, Paul appeared in a classic convertible car with his brother Logan and with a song identified with Mike Tyson, especially from a scene from the movie The Hangover. : “In The Air Tonight”, by Phil Collins.

Tyson, for his part, left on foot and walked alone from the tunnel and to the ring wearing a black robe with the legend “LF Go.”
