The Mexican baseball team suffered a tough defeat this Thursday in group A of the Premier 12after losing 12-2 against the United States.

With this defeat, the Mexican team said goodbye to the competition, while the Americans They secured their qualification to the super round, accompanying Venezuela, which secured its place by beating the Netherlands 11-0.

The match began with a glimmer of hope for Mexico, which took a 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a series of errors by the American defense.

Andrés Álvarez reached first base due to a misfielding by the second baseman, advanced to second on a balk by the pitcher and scored on another error, this time by the shooter. However, this advantage would be short-lived.

The United States overwhelmed Mexico

From there, The United States offensive showed its power and superiority over a Mexico that could not contain the rival attacks.

The Americans had a total of 16 hits, including four home runs, and took the game with an explosive offense.

The United States began to build its lead with a home run by Termarr Johnson, who connected him with a teammate on base.

Then, in the third inning, Justin Crawford also joined the home run party, while Ryan Ward contributed with a ground ball that drove in another run.

Chris Okey and Crawford scored two more runs with singles. The great American offense reached its peak in the fifth inning, where they scored five runs.

Ward shook the stadium again in the sixth, with another home run that practically sealed the game, leaving Mexico with few options to react.

Alan Trejo hit a home run that gave the Mexicans some hopebut insufficient to prevent the game from ending due to superiority after the seventh inning.

Venezuela and the United States qualify for the Super Round of Premier 12

With this victory, the United States placed second in group A, behind Venezuela, which also advanced to the next phase by finishing with four wins and one draw.

Mexico, with a balance of two wins and three losses, was eliminated, as was Puerto Rico, which closed its participation with only one victory in five games.
