Being a corrido singer in Mexico carries a certain risk, as has been seen with executions, threats and attacks on various representatives of that musical genre.
One of the most recent cases is that of the singer Javier Rosaswho, a few hours after giving a presentation at the Palenque de Aquiles Serdán, Chihuahua, was the subject of threats through narco-messages.
The warning, printed on a green piece of cardboard and abandoned in the middle of a public street, was accompanied by a bag containing pigskin.
“You are trying your luck Javier Rosas, you are not welcome, you support Pelón and El Topo, you have been warned”could be read in the message that was quickly removed by local authorities.
So far, Javier Rosas has not issued statements about the incident. The presence of the cardboard and the bag with pig skin generated concern among the neighbors, who decided to alert the authorities by calling 911.
They will protect the concert
After the discovery of this narcomessage, and prior to the show scheduled for the night of this November 15, the State Attorney General, César Jáuregui Moreno, reported that They will carry out a surveillance operation around the concert to avoid “regret” events.
The state official indicated that he was aware of the drug message found, and assured that the Prosecutor’s Office would carry out a prevention operation in Aquiles Serdán, in order to avoid any eventuality.
Finally, Jáuregui Moreno mentioned that these prevention tasks will be carried out with the different security corporations, including the National Guard, the Army and the Public Security Directorate.
The performer, known with his band as “Javier Rosas y su Artillería Pesada”, has been accused on some occasions of advocating organized crimedue to the lyrics of some of the songs that have elevated him as an important regional figure in Mexico.
