The actor Denzel Washington gave important news to his fans, since will work on the third film in the “Black Panther” sagabased on the Marvel superhero. It is one of the five films he has contemplated before his retirement from cinema.
Washington, 69, was in Australia promoting the film “Gladiator II” (directed by Ridley Scott), and commented that Ryan Coogler is writing a paper especially for him in “Black Panther 3”. “For me it’s all about the filmmakers. Especially at this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best. I don’t know how many more movies I’m going to make. There probably aren’t that many. “I want to do things I haven’t done.”
As for his next projects, Denzel knows very well what order he will do them in. The first will be a film directed by Antoine Fuqua in which he will play the Carthaginian general Hannibal. “I have been talking to (the director) Steve McQueen about a movie. After that, the next “Black Panther”. Then I will do the movie “Othello”. Then “King Lear”and after that I will retire.”
Chadwick Bosemanwhich he starred in in 2018 “Black Panther”announced that Denzel Washington He paid for his acting studies for a year, so he saw him as a mentor. “The things you refused to give up along the way are the blueprints we must follow,” said Chadwick, who died in 2020.
In “Gladiator II” Washington plays Macrinus; he shares credits with Paul Mescal, Peter Pascal and Connie Nielsen. The film will be released in the United States on November 22, and is already mentioned as a possible nominee for several awards Oscaramong which could be the Best Supporting Actor category for Denzel.
