“A war”: Ángel Sepúlveda expects a complicated duel for El Tri in Honduras

Angel Sepúlveda, The sub-leader of individual goals in the championship, described as a “war” the match that will mark his return to the Mexican team after 7 years of absence and said that he expects a complicated duel, although he trusts that the Aztec team will get the result and advanced a little of the strategy to achieve it.

“We know that It’s going to be a tough gamebut we have personality. It will not be easy to go to Honduras, we know that We are going to play a war and we are going to leave everything to bring a victory“explained the attacker in a press conference, days before traveling to San Pedro Sula, where they will face the Catrachos this Friday.

Sepúlveda returns to the Mexican team after seven years of absence and in good form, after finishing as the second best scorer in the Apertura 2024 tournament, with nine goals, four below champion Paulinho, who scored 13 with Toluca.

Regarding how they expect the rival’s approach and what their strategy will be to overcome them, he mentioned that they will seek to make them uncomfortable, but that they will seek to remain well focused on their objective.

“We know that they are going to do everything to make us uncomfortableit is a reality. We have to be focused, know how to manage the game and not get hookedOn the contrary, dedicate ourselves to playing football,” added the 33-year-old striker.

The return match against Honduras will be next Tuesday in Toluca, central Mexico, and will be the sixth match for Javier Aguirre, who took over as Tri’s bench last July for the third time in his career.

‘Vasco’ Aguirre is undefeated in his new stage as Mexico coach, with draws against Canada and the Spanish Valencia, and wins over Canada and the United States, all friendly matches, his official debut will be against Honduras.
