The president of Mexico, Claudia sheinbaum announced that this Wednesday he will call the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, to congratulate him for winning the United States presidential elections, held on November 5.
“Today we have a call with President-elect Donald Trump”announced the president of Mexico during her morning conference this Thursday.
“It is a cordial congratulatory call and there will be time to talk about all the issues on the bilateral agenda, which are many,” said Sheinbaum.
Sheinbaum sent a letter to Trump
The president of Mexico reported that she has also already sent a letter to Donald Trump to congratulate him on his electoral victory that will take him back to the White House.
He acknowledged that although he had said that he was going to wait for the official results of the United States elections to make a statement on the matter, he decided to congratulate Donald Trump first, after the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris recognized the Republican’s victory.
“Yesterday I congratulated once the recognition of the candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, of the recognition of Trump as the president-elect, as the winner of the United States election, was public, in such a way that it was no longer necessary to wait for the proceedings of her College Electoral”, expressed the Mexican president.
He assured that he will maintain a cordial relationship with the new US government, despite the threats made by Trump in his political campaign.
