Several cases about Latinos who voted for former President Donald Trump went viral, because they are naturalized immigrants who are in favor of mass deportationseven if their own family members are in danger.
One of the cases shared with this newspaper is that of a voter in California, Diana, who achieved citizenship during the Trump administration, but whose husband is undocumented and, having been deported on at least one occasion, her immigration case is complicated. .

Diana not only indirectly supports a possible deportation of her husband, but also that there could be an intention to withdraw citizenship from her children, because they are children of immigrants, according to a Republican plan, under a law proposed in the Senate by Lindsey Graham (Carolina south).
Another case is that of an attendee at a Trump rally whose interview published by Guardian it went viral.
“[La] border policy [de Trump]I love it. I am 100% in favor of it. As a Mexican-American, I truly believe that we have to take our country back,” the woman said.

Trump has promised a plan for mass deportations and enforcement of the Alien Enemies Act, which would allow mass arrests and expulsions without due process.
Latinos have expressed that their support for Trump has to do with the economybut also with religious and Christian aspects, such as a couple made up of a Mexican and a Salvadoran in Arizona, who have supported the former president since 2016.
“It has been shown that there are millions of Latinos who think like us,” said Betty Rivas, married to Jorge Rivas, with whom she owns a restaurant.
“We want, more than anything, to prosper“says her husband.
“I think the Latin community opened its eyes, I don’t know if in the end, or maybe they had already opened their eyes before, but many of those people didn’t say it,” added Betty.
