In a brave statement that surprised her followers, actress Gaby Spanic shared a devastating experience from her childhood.

In the program “Secretos de Villanas”, Spanic recounted the sexual abuse she suffered as a child, perpetrated by a family member. During a hypnotherapy session, the actress revealed that she kept this painful secret for years, even until the death of her mother, who never learned the truth.

“I want to get rid of that girl’s anger. And that my mother left and never knew it, because it was something very difficult that I feel many women have experienced. And that person was my mother’s favorite… my mother’s brother.”says Spanic before going on to recount the events.

A moving interview

In an interview with People en Español, Gaby delved into her experience and reflected on the reasons that led her to remain silent for so long. With tears in his eyes, Spanic spoke about how this episode marked his life and left a mark that he has had to carry in silence.

“He was my mother’s brother, someone very dear to her.”the actress confessed, highlighting that family closeness was one of the reasons that led her to hide what happened for so long. This relative, he explained, was someone his mother deeply admired, which made it even more difficult to talk about the subject. “I saw my mother since I was a little girl and said: ‘I’m telling her, don’t I tell her?’”he commented, recalling the moments of doubt and fear he faced while growing up.

“It was very difficult. “So many women have experienced something like this and have died with that secret,” He expressed in the conversation with the magazine, revealing how this experience affected his life and how he struggled internally every time he thought about confessing it.

Before the episode of the program was broadcast, Spanic had to talk to his father, who also did not know about this dark episode in his life. According to her, although it was a hard blow for him, it was a necessary step for her, who today, at 50 years old, feels the importance of healing and giving voice to that pain. “Before all this aired, I had to talk to my dad. “My dad didn’t get well”he confessed, highlighting the emotional complexity of remembering these sensitive moments.

Her advice for mothers and fathers of minors

Throughout the conversation, Gaby Spanic reflected on the weight of carrying a trauma like this without being able to share it, highlighting that many women go through similar situations and feel the same fear when speaking. “I am not the first nor the last to whom this has happened”he mentioned, in an attempt to empathize with other people who have had similar experiences. Despite the difficult decision to break the silence, Spanic felt the need to do so as an act of personal liberation and healing.

Gaby also took the opportunity to advise parents on the importance of being attentive to their children, even within the family circle. “This is a very important reflection so that they take great care of their daughters, their sons in their homes. Don’t leave them with family. And give the children the tools that this is not done.”he shared, underlining the importance of creating a safe environment for the little ones.

Despite the actress’ traumatic experience, she has spoken about how liberating it has been for her inner child: “That girl is still inside me and I hug her every day”concluded the Venezuelan.
