The Cruz Azul cement machine is the current leader of the Apertura 2024 championship and without a doubt they are the clear favorite to win the championship, even though Mexican soccer legend Cuauhtémoc Blanco recently sent them a message to keep their feet on solid ground and not celebrate prematurely.
Blanco was emphatic and direct in his words
“In Liguilla they always get screwed, so let’s see if it’s true that they’re going to be fine,” declared Blanco in the Chamber of Deputies. The exazulcrema defended the Águilas del América, regarding the fact that the team directed by André Jardine has raised doubts with some results in the current championship.
“America has a great squad, in Liguilla it is another ticket, hopefully and win these two upcoming games, you are going to close very strong and now shake whoever it is”, were part of the former forward’s words to argue his idea.
Cuauhtémoc made it quite clear that “in Liguilla anything can happen”, implying that the position in the classification table does not determine the winner in the next phase of the championship.
In the eyes of the former Mexico national team player, the “Toluca is fine, we should not rule it out, Monterrey”I hope the teams that have always been important enter,” Blanco said.
What does Cuauhtémoc Blanco think of Javier Aguirre?
The Mexican National Team is currently experiencing a new process now under technical direction from an old acquaintance such as Javier ‘El Vasco’ Aguirre. Cuauhtémoc Blanco highlighted the work done by ‘El Vasco’ in the previous games, giving resounding support to the coach, his coaching staff and also to the players of this new stage of the tri.
“There they go, little by little, we have to talk about it with the players,” commented the former national team.
For Blanco, he still needs to face higher level and much more demanding teams.
“We have to see them with stronger National Teams, to see how they behave”stressed the native of Tepito.
