Isabella Castillo, recognized for her talent in emblematic roles such as “La Usurpadora” and “El Diario de Ana Frank”, reveals that her recent interpretation of Fernanda Ríos in “Sed de Venganza”, the new Telemundo series, has been one of her greatest challenges to date.
In this production, Castillo plays Fernanda Ríos, a woman with a strong character and a malicious plan for revenge. The actress admits that delving into this character required considerable effort, which went far beyond simply reading the script. For her, the makeover and wardrobe are fundamental elements to achieve the transformation. During an episode of “The Star Closet,” Isabella opened the doors to her dressing room and shared with us the strategy behind her character’s image.
In that space, Castillo demonstrated that the actor’s costumes, hairstyle, makeup and overall image are essential to embody Fernanda Ríos. “Fernanda’s style is sensual, seductive and, at the same time, very elegant”he explains. The difference between Fernanda and Isabella
“Fernanda is super fashionista. There are characters who dress well, but she is on another level. I’m sure she has a stylist. “Her clothes are always tailored and she has to look perfect at all times.”details Castillo with enthusiasm. In contrast, the actress describes herself as “funky,” preferring looser clothing and relaxed styles. “Depending on how I feel, I dress differently,” she explains. “I love blazers, and with Fernanda I learned to wear a suit.”
The challenge of disadaptation
However, the challenge is not only in appearance. Isabella also shares the emotional complexity involved in bringing such an intense character to life. “The process of adaptation is not as complicated as that of disadaptation. Since I was 12 years old I have worked in this, so this is my life”says. The actress points out that there is a grief that is experienced when letting go of a character with whom one has lived for a long period of time. “The difficult thing is to find yourself again after finishing a project, not being the other person, but being yourself”.
