Julián Quiñones remains in the midst of a good moment in front of goal by scoring for the second time in the last three games, doing his part this Saturday in Al-Qadsiah’s victory over Al-Ettifaq (0-2) for the ninth day of the Saudi Pro League.

The Mexican striker scored his fourth goal so far this Arab Championship season by putting the final score at 0-2 at the end of the first half (m.45+3). The other goal of the match had been scored earlier by the Uruguayan Gastón Álvarez (m.12).

Julian Quiñoneswho arrived in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Qadsiah in June, had already scored last Friday in his team’s victory against Damac (2-1). He had previously made his debut as a scorer in the Arab tournament with a double against Al-Fateh (3-0) in August.

Images of Mexican forward Julián Quiñones could be seen on social networks celebrating his goal this Saturday in the Arab championship with Al-Qadsiah.

In the midst of the slump of more than a month without being able to score that the 27-year-old forward had, he was left out of the Mexico National Team call for what was the last FIFA double date in which they faced Valencia (2- 2) in Puebla and the United States (2-0) in Guadalajara.

Now, with four goals and one assist in seven games played with his club, Julián Quiñones hopes to maintain the good rhythm and once again be in Javier Aguirre’s call for what will be the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Nations League where he will compete. They will face Honduras in November.

The first leg of this series will be played in San Pedro Sula (Honduran capital) on Friday the 15th of this month while the return leg will be three days later in Toluca. The winner of this match will be one of the four qualifiers for the Final Phase of the Concacaf Nations League that will be played in the month of March.

Julián Quiñones was in Javier Aguirre's first call-up in his new stage at the head of the Mexican National Team after the failure of El Tri in the 2024 Copa América.

How is Al-Qadsiah doing?

The scoring contribution of Julián Quiñones has allowed his team to add victories in their last two appearances in the Saudi Pro League where they are in fifth place in the standings after playing the first nine rounds of the championship.

The Mexican striker’s team has won five wins, one draw and three losses to add 16 points, nine less than the tournament leader Al-Hilal who, together with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr (third with 19 points), are the only ones teams that remain undefeated so far.

Julián Quiñones’ next commitment with Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League will be this Thursday against Al-Fayha in a match corresponding to matchday 11. His current rival is at the bottom of the standings, in the last of the relegation places only ahead of Al-Wehda and Al-Fateh.
