Today, Monday, October 28, the celebration of a new edition of the Ballon d’Or will be taking place.the grand gala that rewards the best soccer players and coaches of the year, which will take place in the city of Paris, France.
The gala will begin in the United States at 3:45 PM Eastern Time and will be televised on from CBS Sports Golazo Network, Paramount and the official YouTube channel of L’Equipe.

This Monday, at the Theater du Chatelet, the 2024 Ballon d’Or Ceremony will take place. The gala, organized by FIFA and the French magazine France Football, and this year’s edition will feature an anecdote that attracts a lot of attention and is considered a before and after in historical football, since it will be the first in many years which will not have the presence of the living legends, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, top winners of said award.
The Brazilian Vinícius, a Real Madrid player, is emerging as the great favorite to win the Ballon d’Or. At 24 years old, the Real Madrid white team forward has stood out for his 26 goals and 12 assists spread over 49 matches played last season, in addition to his outstanding, important and differential performances in the Champions League and LaLiga.
The current player of the Brazilian national team will have to compete with figures of the size and level of Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal and the now retired Toni Kroos. In addition, footballers Rodri and Erling Haaland, current champions of the English Premier League with Manchester City, are other notable names of the night.
Dani Olmo, a recent signing in the ranks of the Barcelona Football Club, is also among the candidates to win the Ballon d’Or, thanks to his outstanding performance with the Spanish national team in the last Euro 2024 in Germany.
Who will win in the women’s version?
The female participants in the competition are Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellaswinners of the three previous editions.

In addition to the Ballon d’Or, the Kopa award will be awarded to the most outstanding young person. Lamine Yamal, FC Barcelona player, is the main contender for victory. The young forward has shone in every game in which he defends the colors of the Barça team and also with the Spanish national team. Meanwhile, the Yashin award, which recognizes the best goalkeeper in the world, has among its candidates Unai Simón and Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martínez.
In the first instance, an award will be granted to the most outstanding coach of the previous season.with Real Madrid’s Italian, Carlo Ancelotti as the main candidate, along with other outstanding coaches. The coaches of the women’s teams, Jonatan Giraldez, Arthur Elias and Sonia Bompastor, also participate in the competition.
