Claudia Sheinbaum, President of Mexico expressed her condemnation of the attack that the former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, suffered last Sunday when he was traveling on a highway on his way to his weekend program.

Sheinbaum Pardo said in his morning conference that he sympathized with the former Bolivian president for the shooting attack he suffered while he was aboard a truck, along with two other companions.

On Sunday, the car in which Evo Morales was traveling was attacked by gunfire from two moving vehicles that approached the former president’s unit, according to the first reports.

Morales’ vehicle was shot 15 times as he continued driving. The former president was not injured, but his driver was.

“We condemn it, our solidarity with Evo Morales and always a call to avoid violence. “Let it be peace and political definition, that’s what politics is for, to avoid violence,” said Sheinbaum from the National Palace, where he holds his morning conference, called “the morning of the people.”

“Our condemnation of this fact and also our solidarity and always the search for peace and non-violence,” added President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

The attack against Evo Morales

The attack against Evo Morales took place on Sunday morning and it was the former Bolivian president himself who denounced the events.

The woman who was the co-pilot recorded the shooting attack. The material was shared on social networks, where it went viral and the former president is seen crouching down to avoid the shots.

Even the woman who was the co-pilot and who recorded the attack yells at the president to get down.

“I want to inform you that our fellow drivers Franklin Bernabé and Iber Rodriguez, despite their injuries, are in good health. “His expertise prevented them from killing us all,” Evo Morales later wrote on his X account. “Also, our colleague Cesia Vargas is fine, her calmness in such a dramatic moment helped a lot. “I am very grateful for the team that accompanies me,” commented the former Bolivian president.

Morales blamed the government of President Luis Arce for the events.
