Speech previews shared by his campaign show that Harris is directly blaming former President Donald Trump for abortion bans in several states and plans to amplify the stories of people affected by those restrictions.

Harris plans to say: “In the United States, freedom is not given. Not granted. It’s ours. By right. And that includes a woman’s fundamental freedom to make decisions about her own body and not have the government telling her what to do.”

It will also contrast what A Republican administration wants to do with the private medical records of women in Texas, compared to what Trump does with his own medical records. and plans to say that: “The attorney general of Texas is suing the United States government so that Texas prosecutors can get their hands on the private medical records of women who leave the state for medical care. So, look what’s happening: Donald Trump won’t let anyone see his medical records. But do these guys want to get their hands on your medical records? In short: they are crazy.”

The released excerpts show Harris is directly blaming former President Donald Trump for abortion bans in several states and plans amplify the stories of people affected by those restrictions.

Friday’s rally will focus on Amanda and Josh Zurawski, the Texas couple who led a lawsuit against the state’s abortion bans after Amanda suffered life-threatening pregnancy complications but could not have an abortion in the deeply republican state.

Harris plans to say that “no one is protected”, and will mention states like Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania, where there are currently protections for reproductive health.

“And even though we’re in Texas tonight, for anyone watching from another state, if you think you’re protected from Trump’s abortion bans because you live in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New York, California or any other state where Whether voters or legislators have protected reproductive freedom, please know: no one is guaranteed protection. Because a national ban by Donald Trump would make abortion illegal in every state.”

Harris also plans to highlight how Texas Democratic US Senate candidate Colin Alfred will advocate for reproductive rights in the state, if elected.

“What happens in this election will determine the future of reproductive freedom for future generations… I trust women. And with Colin Allred in the United States Senate, when Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive freedom, as President of the United States, I will proudly sign it into law… We are fighting for a country where “Whoever you are or wherever you live, you can make that decision based on what is best for you and your family.”

Although Texas is not considered a key state, Democrats have decided to invest time and money in it, to take advantage of the Democratic candidate’s advantage. Colin Allred in the tight race to take the seat from the Republican senator Ted Cruz and to demonstrate that they can end the political control that the Republicans have over the state.

In the surveys, Harris has scored below Trump in Texas, with an average of 46% support compared to 53% for former president and Republican candidate Donald Trump, according to data from the survey aggregator FiveThirtyEight.
