A terrible act of violence was recorded in the state of Guerrero, after two criminal groups clashed for several hours, leaving a balance of 14 criminals and two police officers dead.
It all happened in the Tecpan de Galeana municipality, where a new cartel called New Generation Warriorwhich announced, through a video, its incursion into that region to banish the criminal group The Granados.
In the images spread on social networks, dozens of hitmen and vehicles with the initials GNG can be seen threatening to end the abuses committed by Los Granados, mainly in the towns of San Pedro and San Luis de la Loma.
They later entered Tecpan de Galeana aboard about 25 trucks and heavily armed, where they set fire to several vehicles and set up roadblocks.
During the tour through the streets, The gunmen shot and murdered two municipal police officers aboard a patrol car. This provoked a violent reaction from the rival group, as well as the authorities who tried to contain the situation.
Even elements of the Mexican Army participated in the events, after a nearby base of operations was attacked. The clashes lasted for around 7 hours.according to the newspaper Reforma.
According to the EFE agency, the military was in charge of killing the 14 hitmen and detained 11 more, in addition to seizing 16 vehicles, three of them with handmade armor, and an important arsenal that included a Barret rifle and several long weapons. .
In the confrontation it was reported that three soldiers were injured and were evacuated to receive medical attention in the port of Acapulco.
Although Los Granados have operated in Tecpan de Galeana for years, it seems that now they want to dispute control of the territory, and in this case it is the criminal group Guerrero Nueva Generación, which is presumed to be an alliance between The Michoacan Family with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the region.
