True to his rhetoric, at a rally focused on immigration in Tempe, Arizona, Donald Trump said that The United States is “like a garbage dump” for the rest of the world because of its border policies for less than two weeks before election day.

The comment was a new interpretation of common Trump rhetoric, who has repeatedly used dehumanizing language when talking about immigrants, accusing them of “poisoning the blood of our country” and spreading falsehoods that some were eating people’s pets.

Under these arguments, he spent much of his rally riddled with insults denouncing a border “invasion” for which he blamed Vice President Kamala Harris.

“They unleashed an army of immigrant gangs who waged a campaign of violence,” said Trump, who often uses dehumanizing language when talking about undocumented immigrants. “We are a dump. “We are like a garbage can for the world.”

Immigration has been a central issue for Trump throughout the campaign, as he highlighted stories about undocumented immigrants committing crimes and blamed them for the rise in violence.

Trump also reiterated his promise to end sanctuary cities, his call for the death penalty if an undocumented immigrant kills a U.S. citizen, shis plan to ask Congress for 10,000 new border patrol agents and his promise to resurrect his so-called Remain in Mexico policy, which required migrants to remain in Mexico while they waited for asylum hearings.

“Millions of people are coming,” Trump said. “And we’re not going to let that happen.”

Trump criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom as “the worst” and accused Colorado President Jared Polis of being too “petrified” to deal with immigrant-driven gang violence.
