This new variant not only becomes one of the most attractive alternatives on the market for drivers who seek efficiency without giving up performance, but also comes with two versions that adjust to different power needs.

Since its introduction, the Audi A3 has been synonymous with sophistication and performance in the world of premium compacts.

However, this new plug-in hybrid version takes the driving experience to a whole new level.

Choosing an engine 1.5 liter internal combustioncombined with an advanced electrical system, allows users to enjoy completely electric mobility, something that has become a priority for both manufacturers and consumers in a world increasingly concerned about sustainability. But how does all this translate into the actual driving experience?

Audi A3 TFSIe 2025: recognizable style with modern touches

At first glance, the 2025 Audi A3 TFSIe appears not to have changed much in terms of exterior design. Loyal followers of the brand will find the same elegant and dynamic lines that have characterized the model since its last renewal.

However, some small details reveal the hybrid identity of this new version.

For example, The charging cover for the electrical outlet is discreetly located on the front left side panelmarking the difference between this electrified variant and the traditional internal combustion versions.

The interior follows a similar vein: the A3 TFSIe’s cabin is a familiar space for Audi drivers, albeit with some subtle but significant improvements.

The infotainment system has been updated to reflect electric driving informationwhile the digital instrument cluster shows details such as battery level, remaining range in electric mode and energy consumption in real time.

Also, the driving mode selector now includes a setting dedicated exclusively to 100% electric mobilityallowing drivers to maximize the use of the energy stored in the batteries.

Power and efficiency with two performance options

The true advance of the Audi A3 TFSIe is found in its propulsion system. This model is available in two different versionseach designed to satisfy different preferences in terms of power and performance.

The entry version, called “40 TFSIe”offers a combination of electric and gasoline motor that generates a total of 204 horsepower.

This is more than enough to provide an agile and efficient driving experience, capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds, an impressive figure for a plug-in hybrid in its category.

In fully electric mode, this version can reach a maximum speed of 140 km/hperfect for urban and peri-urban journeys without the need to activate the combustion engine.

On the other hand, the most powerful version, “45 TFSIe”raises the bar with a combined output of 272 horsepower.

This variant offers more aggressive acceleration, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, in addition to a slightly higher top speed of 237 km/h. Despite its notable increase in power, efficiency remains a key factor in the design of the “45 TFSIe”, which, like its less powerful counterpart, can operate exclusively in electric mode at a maximum speed of 140 km/h .

One of the biggest surprises of the Audi A3 TFSIe is its ability to travel up to 143 kilometers in fully electric modea figure that places it at the head of its segment in terms of autonomy.

This makes it an ideal option for those who make short or medium daily trips and seek to minimize their dependence on fossil fuels. This autonomy has been possible thanks to the inclusion of a 25.7 kWh battery, of which 19.7 kWh are usable.

Recharging the A3 TFSIe’s battery is also a relatively quick process. At a DC fast charging station, The vehicle can go from 10% to 80% of its capacity in just 30 minuteswhich means that a short rest at a public charging point may be enough to restore much of its autonomy.

On a more common AC outlet, the battery can be fully charged in about 2.5 hours using an 11 kW charger, an affordable option for most drivers.

Improved dynamism and control

Audi has meticulously worked on the driving dynamics of the A3 TFSIe to ensure that, despite the addition of the battery and electrical components, the vehicle continues to offer an immersive driving experience.

This has involved modifying the chassis, making it more rigid to improve stability and control on the road. Additionally, the A3 TFSIe includes a regenerative braking system which allows the driver to adjust the intensity of energy recovery through the paddles behind the steering wheel, adding a sporty and customizable touch to the driving experience.

With these adjustments, the A3 TFSIe is positioned not only as an efficient and environmentally friendly vehicle, but also as an agile and dynamic machine, capable of offering emotions behind the wheel without sacrificing comfort or stability.
