“Hello,” he finally managed to say. donald trump to a packed auditorium that had gathered to hear him speak at a campaign event in Detroit, Michiganon Friday night, when The audio worked again after a failure that lasted about 17 minutes.

It is the second time in the last week that a Trump rally has spiraled out of control, notable failures because they come in the final weeks of a tough campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris.

While the audio was off, Trump walked around the stage, occasionally speaking to nearby technical staff and rally attendees. However, he did not leave the stage or address the crowd.

“I will not pay the bill for this stupid company,” Trump said once the sound started working again, referring to the audio company he blamed for the error. “If it gets cut again, I will sue that company.”

The rally continued for another hour, but Trump at times struggled to overcome the initial glitches of the audio; 20 minutes after the start of the event, He still complained that he had to “scream” to get his message across, even when the audio system had been completely restored.

After the audio failure on Friday night, Trump’s rally in Detroit quickly became a standard event for the former president.

Much of the event focused on illegal immigration, a typical Trump campaign issue and continued his general repertoire of complaints and attacks against Harris.

Trump said that if he returns to the White House, he will end the “transgender madness,” will stop the war in Ukrainewithout saying how, and will crack down on illegal immigration, which also remains a key cog in Trump’s economic message.

“Kamala destroyed our border,” he said. “It destroyed our economy.”

Meanwhile, Harris’ campaign took to social media Friday night to point out that Trump apparently fell asleep during a campaign stop earlier in the day, posting a video of him apparently closing his eyes.

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump spent Friday campaigning in Michigan, a key battleground state where Both are effectively tied in voting intention surveys.
