J Balvin surprised everyone in his recent participation in Billboard’s Latin Music Week panel, a space that initially focused on his career, but ended with an unexpected emotional twist.
During the session, a Venezuelan boy of only 13 years old, known on social media as Pedro the Rapper, took the stage and conquered the hearts of everyone present, including Balvin himself.
Pedro had attended the event as one of the public, interested in listening to the presentations of artists of the stature of J Balvin. However, at the end of the panel, the Colombian, seeking to interact more closely with his followers, asked them to ask him questions directly. Among the many raised hands, it was Pedro’s that caught the eye.
The young man, full of confidence, took advantage of the opportunity and from his seat asked: “How can I record with you?”. With a response that surprised everyone, Balvin replied: “That’s very easy. You just have to show me what you have, and if it’s good, we’ll put it in.”. Immediately, he invited Pedro to the stage.
The little rapper wasted no time and presented his song “Retro 1.” Encouraged by Balvin, Pedro showed his talent and charisma in front of the audience, leaving everyone, including the reggaeton singer, shocked by his performance.
After his presentation, Pedro spoke with La Opinión exclusively, giving more details about his musical career and talent.
More than anything he expressed his emotion after the unexpected moment he had with the reggaeton player.
Did you expect Balvin’s reaction?
The truth is that no. I am very happy. You can’t imagine the happiness I feel right now.
What did Balvin tell you?
He already wrote to me on social networks to do the next topic.
Where do you get the inspiration to write your songs?
I feel that of the mind. There are also times when they help me. And I feel that inspiration, being with God at all times and well, [fue una] great opportunity. Thank you.
This improvised presentation by Pedro and his interaction with Balvin will, without a doubt, be a decisive moment that will mark a before and after in the young artist’s promising career.
