This Wednesday the extensionist Serena Williams posted a video announcing that she had surgery to remove a cyst that he had on his neck “the size of a small grapefruit” and that he detected since last May.
In the clip she uploaded to TikTok, the winner of 23 grand slams in her career tells the development of the operation from when she found out until after the intervention was carried out successfully.
“In May I noticed a lump on my neck. I went to the doctor, had an MRI and they told me that I had a brachial cyst. They said that I didn’t need to remove it if I didn’t want to. I didn’t do it, but it kept growing“reported Williams, 43 years old.
“I decided to undergo more tests, and After three tests and a biopsy, everything was still negative, but the doctors advised me to remove the cyst as soon as possible because it was the size of a small grapefruit and could become infected, or even worse, leak,” continued the former world number 1.
“So this is me taking it off. I feel very grateful and lucky because everything turned out well.and above all, I am healthy,” she concluded.

Hours before the video, the former tennis player commented on X that he was feeling better and explained that for health reasons he had not heard about the farewell announcement of another tennis legend: Rafael Nadal, who confirmed last week that the Davis Cup will be his last tournament.
