Los Angeles school students fall ill from drug use

At least 17 students at a Los Angeles high school fell ill Thursday afternoon and had to be medically evaluated. after allegedly consuming a banned substancethe authorities reported.

At approximately 11:00 am, paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the reported emergency. on the Walter Reed Middle School campus, 4525 Irvine Avenue, in the Studio City/North Hollywood area.

The paramedics said 17 students were evaluated, and two of them had to be transferred to a hospital. The remaining 15 were discharged and later handed over to their parents. All are expected to make a full recovery.

For now, It has not been reported what the substance was that the 17 students could have consumed.

A spokesperson for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) told ABC that the high school principal issued a statement in relation to this incident in which he assured that the safety of his students and staff was his top priority.

“Today we realized that a group of students could have consumed a prohibited substance. “Emergency personnel were contacted and the students received medical attention,” he said.
