Cruz Azul, under the direction of Argentine Martín Anselmi, will seek to consolidate its dominance in Liga MX when it visits Puebla at the start of matchday 12 of the Apertura tournament.

The “Cementeros” come to this match with nine victories, a draw and only one defeat, accumulating 28 points that position them as leaders undisputed of the contest. With a four-point advantage over their closest pursuer, Tigres, those led by Anselmi will maintain the lead no matter what happens this week.

The Cruz Azul team has been an offensive machine in the tournament, registering 26 goals, making it the highest scoring team of the championship. In addition, it has the second best defense, with only eight goals conceded.

Players like the Greek Giorgos Giakoumakis and the Argentine Carlos Rotondi, with five goals eachhave been key in the cement attack. They are joined by figures such as Lorenzo Faravelli and the Uruguayan Ignacio Rivero, both with four goals, who will be fundamental pieces to dismantle Puebla’s weak defense, which has conceded 20 goals so far this campaign.

For its part, Puebla, which is in 12th place in the table, faces the challenge with a lot against it, but with the combative spirit that it has shown throughout the tournament. Canadian Lucas Cavallini will be in charge of leading the Puebla attack, hoping to surprise the leader.
