El Salvador falls to San Vicente and complicates its pass to the 2025 Gold Cup

The El Salvador team lost 1-2 against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in Kingstown, with which thwarted their anticipated qualification for the 2025 Gold Cup and its promotion to League A of Concacaf, so now it is obliged to win its last two games in the League of Nations if you want to achieve these goals.

The Salvadorans, led by Spanish coach David Dóniga, remain with 9 points in Group A of the Concacaf League B, while San Vicente reaches 7 points, leaving Bonaire and Montserrat in third and fourth place with 4 and 3 points, respectively.

The first goal of the match came in the 39th minute and It was Shakeem Adams who opened the scoring after he took advantage a mistake by Salvadoran captain Rudy Clavel.

Clavel lost the ball in the middle of the field, an error that was taken advantage of by San Vicente through Adams who found the spaces to approach the goal protected by Tomas Romero and scored.

The Caribbean’s goal came despite the fact that the Salvadorans were superior and dominated the game, but without achieving it.

In the second half, at minute 60, Salvadoran Nelson Blanco took a free kick and his shot hit the crossbar, so the Blue and White lost their chance to tie.

Dóniga’s team completely lost control of the game, but The tie came in the 71st minute through Rudy Clavel’s header, which vindicated the error in the first half of the game..

However, The San Vicentinos went ahead again on the scoreboard in the 88th minute when Diel Spring received a cross from Sherwyn Alexander on the right wing and scored the second for his team.

With this result, El Salvador also loses its streak of three consecutive games won.

The Central Americans close their participation in Group A of League B the League of Nations receiving November in San Salvador to Bonaire and Montserrat, games that they must win to promote to League A of Concacaf and qualify for the 2025 Gold Cup.
