Vem Miller, 49, was stopped in a black SUV at the intersection of 52nd Avenue and Celebration Drive in Coachella, California, at the entrance to a Donald Trump rally, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department this Sunday.

Indirectly, fThe possible third assassination attempt against the former president of the United States has been thwarted.

Miller was taken into custody without incident, but was released after posting $5,000 bail. Following the arrest, he was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center on charges of possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine. Authorities confirmed that the safety of former President Donald Trump or those attending the rally was not compromised.

According to official information, Vem Miller lives in the neighboring state of Nevada in Las Vegas and when he was arrested he was carrying a shotgun in illegal possession, a loaded pistol, a high-capacity magazine and fake VIP passes.

Republican presidential candidate Trump has faced two previous assassination attempts during the 2024 election campaign.

Given this, the United States Secret Service increased security after the first of them, which occurred at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, in which a Trump supporter died and two others were injured when a bullet hit the ear of the former president.

Two months later, authorities said there was a second attempt on Trump’s life at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Taking advantage of the context and after the second attack, Donald Trump alleged, without presenting evidence, that comments by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris that he represents a threat to democracy had inspired an attempt on his life.despite the fact that the Republican has a long history of inflammatory speeches and promoting the imprisonment or prosecution of his political adversaries.
