The WNBA finals for the 2024 season have already been defined and the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx will be facing each other in the fight for the championship, where the best women’s basketball stars will compete to win the title.
Which teams are going to the 2024 WNBA Finals?
The New York Liberty was the first team to earn its ticket to the finals of the WNBA after leaving the Las Vegas Aces on the road in the semifinals. The team from the city of ‘The Big Apple’, led by Sabrina Ionescu, began winning the series in the first game with a score of 77-87 and repeated the dose in game number 2 with a score of 84-88.
For the third game, the Aces managed to put the series 2-1 by defeating Liberty 81-95but in the decisive match, the New York girls were able to win decisively with a score of 76-61 to reach the WNBA finals.
While the Minnesota Lynx beat the Connecticut Suns in the fifth game to earn their ticket to the finals and try to become the first franchise in the best women’s basketball league in the world to win 5 championships. The series was quite even and the Lynx began by losing the first game 73-70, but immediately tied it in the next game 77-70.
The Minnesota Lynx managed to turn it around (90-81) and felt they were in the finals, but the ticket was delayed a little more time as the Sun forced game five after winning 82-92 and tying the series. In the defining game, the Minnesota team were able to win the match 88-77 and completed their trip to the league finals.
