They search for the mother of a two-year-old girl who died from alleged exposure to fentanyl in Oregon

Police in Portland, Oregon, say they are searching for the mother of a 2-year-old girl who died from suspected fentanyl exposure last month.and which is also accused of “several violent crimes.”

Police said they have been unable to locate Mary Jacobo, 26, for more than three weeks since her infant daughter’s death. The girl suffered cardiac arrest on September 12 and was taken by ambulance from her home to a local hospital, where she died.according to the authorities.

The cause and manner of death have not yet been confirmed, but “based on evidence discovered at the child’s home and conversations with hospital staff, fentanyl is believed to be a contributing factor,” the OPD said. of Portland in a press release reviewed by ABC News.

Police did not release the name of the deceased girl.

Following the girl’s death, police said they were seeking to speak with Jacobo, who they said left the home “as this incident was initially unfolding.”

Jacobo has not been located in the weeks since, despite “significant investigative efforts,” police said Friday.

Since the death of his daughter, Jacobo is suspected of having committed armed vehicle robbery and other unspecified crimes.

Police have also issued several arrest warrants for Jacobo, but have not released details about the charges against him because Jacobo is not yet in custody and the cases may be confidential, Portland Police Sergeant Kevin told ABC News. Allen.

Police asked for the public’s collaboration in locating Jacobo, warning that she is considered armed and dangerous.

The police described Jacobo as a woman 1.65 meters tall and weighing 61 kilos, with hazel eyes. He has brown hair, possibly recently dyed blonde, according to police. He also has tattoos on the front of his neck, chest and left hand.

Police said anyone with information about Jacobo’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
