The film “Rust” will be screened in November in Poland

“Rust”film directed by Joel Souza and in whose filming an unfortunate accident occurred that ended the life of the director of photography Halyna Hutchins, will be screened to the public for the first time in November, as part of the Camerimage Festival in Poland.

The film, which stars Alec Baldwincould be released commercially until 2025, but in the meantime the festival organizers published in instagram a message in which they express their excitement at presenting the film, which will be dedicated to Hutchins.

“Almost three years after the tragic death of Halyna Hutchinsa Ukrainian cinematographer who was part of the festival family, Camerimage will honor his memory and remind the world of his legacy.” He post includes several images from the film.

At the end of the premiere there will be a question and answer session with Souza and Bianca Clinethe latter the cinematographer who replaced Halyna in the second part of the shoot. She declared to People as follows: “We wanted to do this to honor her and make sure people could see what she was working on. I think it’s his best moviethe most beautiful, and I have seen them all.”

Bianca highlighted that Camerimage is the ideal event for Hutchins’ latest work to be presented.: “The good thing is that it is the film festival known because it focuses exclusively on cinematography. And I think one of the things about the movie is that no one knows anything about Halyna. “Everyone knows about her death, and that’s sad, because she is such a beautiful person and a talented cinematographer.”

“Rust” it’s a western in which Baldwin plays Harland Rust, who must rescue his nephew Lucas Hollister (Patrick Scott McDermott) after he is sentenced to hanging. On October 21, 2021, the actor fired a loaded revolver on the set while rehearsing a scene, injuring the director and Halyna Hutchinswho died that same day. In July of this year, a judge dismissed the involuntary manslaughter case against Alec.
