Daniel Day-Lewis comes out of retirement and announces that he will return to acting

Seven years ago the British actor Daniel Day-Lewis announced that he was retiring from the world of cinema, but now it has been announced that will resume his career, with the leading role in the film “Anemone”which will mark his son’s directorial debut Roman Day-Lewis.

The film will show the conflicts between the members of a family; The script was written by Daniel and Roman, and the main cast also stands out Sanuel Bottomley, Sean Bean, Samantha Morton and Safia Oakley-Green. It will be the actor’s first job since “Phantom Thread”a film that was released in 2017 and for which he was nominated for the award oscar.

Peter Kujawskifrom the production company Focus Featuresreported in a statement the following: “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist like Ronan Day-Lewis in his first feature film, alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as your creative collaborator. “They have written a truly exceptional script and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences.”

It is not yet known when filming for “Anemone” will begin. a few months ago Daniel Day-Lewis presented an award from the National Board Of Review to Martin Scorsesewith whom he worked on the tapes “The Age Of Innocence” and “Gangs Of New York”. At the event, the director expressed his desire for Daniel to come out of retirement.

“We made two films together, and I must say that it is one of the greatest experiences of my life. And maybe there’s time for one more. One more movie,” Martin said, while Day-Lewis smiled, without confirming that he would act again, but not denying it either.
