FIFA punishes Samuel Eto'o for offensive conduct and Fair Play violations

After inappropriate behavior that was not detailed, the disciplinary commission of the FIFA decided to sanction Samuel Eto’o with six months suspension from any match of the Cameroon national football teamsThis was reported this Monday through a statement from the governing body of world football.

The former FC Barcelona player and now president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) would have violated FIFA regulations during a match of his country’s women’s team.

What the FIFA statement mentions is that the sanction is due to non-compliance with articles 13 (“Offensive conduct and violations of the principles of fair play”) and 14 (“Improper conduct of players and officials”) of the Disciplinary Code of the football organization.

Are violations are related to the round of 16 match of the U-20 Women’s World Cup between Brazil and Cameroonwhich took place on September 11 in Bogotá, Colombia.

The sanction will prevent Eto’o from attending the matches of the FECAFOOT men’s and women’s teams, regardless of the category or age group. FIFA has notified this decision to the president of the Cameroonian Federation, and the sanction has already come into force since Monday.
