Kamala Harris, Democratic presidential candidatesaid that during Donald Trump’s time at the head of the White House he left the country with “the worst economy since the Great Depression.”

During an interview given to the television channel MSNBC, The acting vice president criticized the 78-year-old New Yorker’s proposal to impose tariffs on companies that do not manufacture their products in the country.

Harris says a detailed analysis is required, as this could be counterproductive for the US economy.

“You can’t just throw out the idea of tariffs on everybody. And that’s part of the problem with Donald Trump. He’s not very serious in his thinking on some of these issues.

“One must be serious and have a plan, a real plan that is not limited to a talking point that ends in an exclamation at a political rally, but really thinks about what the return on investment will be; what the economic impact will be on ordinary people,” he said.

The 59-year-old Californian also blamed the New York magnate for leaving the current administration with “the worst economy since the Great Depression.”

“My view on the economy is that when you grow the middle class, the U.S. economy gets stronger; Donald Trump has a history of taking care of very rich people,” he said.

In fact, at a previous meeting held at the Economic Club of Pittsburgh before nearly 400 people, Kamala Harris defined her opponent on the ballot as one of the biggest losers of manufacturing jobs in all of history.

“Since before the pandemic broke out, In total, nearly 200,000 manufacturing jobs were lost during his presidency., That makes Trump one of the biggest losers in manufacturing history.“, he noted.

The woman who aspires to become the first female American president closed her speech by reiterating that her rival represents the interests of millionaires and not those of the majority of citizens,

“For Donald Trump, our economy works better if it works for those who own the big skyscrapers, not for those who build themnot for those who install them, not for those who clean the floors,” he emphasized.
