The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) launched its first Spanish-language television ad in District CA-22, highlighting the extremist and anti-abortion views of Republican David Goncalves Valadaowhich he claims are not aligned with the position of the majority of residents of the Central Valley.

The promo features a clip where the Hanford-born conservative admits he supports a nationwide ban on abortion with no exceptions that would end access to abortion in California.

The DCCC’s argument is that the majority of eligible voters in District CA-22 support the idea of women asserting their reproductive rights.without facing the risk of being punished by law for doing so.

The ad called “Your Strength” will begin airing in Bakersfield today, as it is considered a key district for California Democrats.

It should be noted that in the open primaries on March 5, The 47-year-old Republican congressman obtained nearly 33% of the votes to secure a spot in the November general election, where he will face Democrat Rudy Salas, who received 31% support among citizens.

The 22nd Congressional District, for which both politicians are competing, covers parts of Kern, Kings and Tulare counties, from Hanford south to Bakersfield.

A few weeks before the elections are held, it is estimated that 43% of citizens are registered as Democrats; while 26% are registered as Republicans.

The attractive thing about the campaign is that there are 23% of citizens who do not yet have a political inclination and perhaps the candidate who manages to convince this sector could be declared the winner on the ballot.

In this sense, Democrat Rudy Salas intends to take advantage of the identification he could achieve with the agricultural workers of the Central Valley, because, despite the fact that he is currently a professor at CSU Bakersfield, he grew up working in the fields.
