The long-awaited fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua He walked away after the latter’s defeat last weekend against Daniel Dubois, who won in five rounds, after sending his opponent to the canvas three times.
After the beating AJ received, “The Gipsy King” downplayed this possible fight and said that only has his sights set on a rematch against Oleksandr Usykwho became the undisputed heavyweight champion after defeating him last February.
“I’m not worried about some lazy guy (Joshua) who just got beat up. He’s nothing. I have someone who has a victory over me, who took my virginity (the undefeated), stole it and took it to Ukraine, or Spain or wherever he lives. He has a victory over me, and that is what worries me and not another man. I have a man (Usyk) who basically has me by the balls,” Fury said in an interview with iFL TV.
“I don’t think he really beat me in that fight. But now I’m going to beat him, and I’m going to knock him out, and I’m going to train to give him a good knockout like I did with Wilder,” he added, recalling his battle with Deontay.
Returning to the topic of Joshua, Tyson acknowledged that there is a lot of interest from the public to see them both in the ring and assured that if it happens, with many dollars involved, he would accept without hesitation, although he made it clear that beating AJ is not one of his goals.
“They always tried to make a feud between AJ and I grow. In that fight we were both going to make tons of money. That fight didn’t happen and we both ended up fighting other rivals and still making tons of money. If the fight happens at some point, great, but if it doesn’t, that’s fine too. I don’t care if it happens or not.”he concluded.
