Winter baseball is getting closer to arriving and in Venezuela the preseason It is a fact, and one of the classic teams of that nation, the Caracas Lions, continue to make the moves that could lead them to conquer a new championship; this Saturday they announced a change that involved the arrival of the catcher of the Kansas City Royals in Major League Baseball, Salvador Pérez.

For their part, the Zulia Eagles received 3 players from the team The news was undoubtedly received with great surprise, joy and excitement by the club’s fans.

Samuel Perez, Dahian Santos and Cesar Perdomothree pitchers from the Minor Leagues, become part of the ranks of the Zulia team.

Salvador Pérez has made a life in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), two with the Tiburones de La Guaira uniform in the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons, in addition to one with the Águilas del Zulia in the 2022-2023 campaign.

His numbers are quite positive, since he has a lifetime average batting average of .329 points, in addition to having collected a total of 95 hits, 19 doubles, 11 home runs, 63 RBIs, in a total participation of 70 games.

The Venezuelan catcher has been in Major League Baseball for 13 seasons and all defending the colors of the Kansas City Royals, being one of the most important and relevant players of said organization.

Zulia receives three players in exchange for Salvador Pérez

The Zulia Eagles will have 3 new arms in their pitching staff for the next season, which is something that motivates the team a lot, especially with their aspirations of once again competing for the Venezuelan tournament championship.

Samuel Pérez is the only pitcher who has experience in the championship from Venezuela. Pérez debuted in the 2023-2024 campaign and is remembered for having been the man in charge of striking out the star player of the Atlanta Braves in the MLB and the Tiburones de La Guaira in Venezuela, Ronald Acuña Júnior, in his first at-bat in the LVBP.

He currently plays for the Minnesota Twins in Class A.Last season he was able to achieve numbers of 2.54 ERA, 77 strikeouts and 22 walks in 67.1 innings pitched.

Dahian Santos is a 21-year-old right-handed pitcher and in the United States he is a member of the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League. The right-hander has numbers of 6.06 ERA, 48 strikeouts and 27 walks in 35.2 innings pitched in Class A, AA and Rookie of Toronto.

César Perdomo, for his part, is 22 years old and currently lives with the San Francisco Giants in the Major Leagues. This year he has pitched in Class A and A+ with a 2.78 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 97.0 innings pitched.
