Jen O’Malley Dillon, campaign manager for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, issued a statement saying the vice president is willing to debate Donald Trump on October 23.

The 59-year-old Californian is ready to exchange views with the 78-year-old Republican again, this time in front of CNN cameras and in the same format established previously, as she believes it is appropriate for American citizens to clear up any doubts they may have about which of the two campaign proposals is the best.

“The American people deserve another chance to see Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate before they vote. It would be unprecedented in modern history if there was only one debate in the general election. Debates offer a unique opportunity for voters to see the candidates side-by-side and take stock of their contrasting visions for America.

Vice President Harris is ready for another chance to share the stage with Donald Trump, and has accepted CNN’s invitation to a debate on October 23. Donald Trump should have no problem accepting this debate. It is the same format and set-up as the CNN debate he attended and claimed to have won in June, when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules, and ratings,” the letter reads in part.
