Given how close the race for the presidency looks, Jill Biden, First Lady of the Nation, She is in favour of a “peaceful transfer of power” after the elections.

With less than 50 days left until the polls, during an interview with the television channel NBC News, The wife of the acting president urged citizens to put aside their political divisions and peacefully accept the results of the electoral process on November 5.

“I think we need to unite. I think we have to voteAs Americans, you know, that’s a right that we’ve been given and I think we need to take advantage of it, and then we have to have a peaceful transfer of power“, he said.

The first lady’s comment comes in reference to the attack on the Capitol in January 2021, when a group of civilians tried to prevent Joe Biden from being declared the winner of the presidential election.

In a matter of minutes, the image went around the world and shook the democracy that had been built over years, as Donald Trump still refuses to accept his defeat at the polls, a situation that keeps Americans divided.

And to add more tension to the current political landscape, Last March, the 78-year-old Republican issued a stark warning of what could happen next in the country.

“If I am not elected, there will be a bloodbath. It will be a bloodbath for the country,” he stressed.

At the moment, none of the main pollsters dare to predict who would win the presidential race, as they warn of a very balanced scenario and with a considerable percentage of the population still undecided about who to support on the ballot.

Faced with this scenario, Jill Biden said she feels relieved by the fact that her husband has chosen to give up his re-election aspirations.

“I am at total peace. And so is he. I think there are still a lot of things going on in the world that are quite heavy, but I hope that over time that will ease a bit and someone else will take the reins,” she concluded.
