Daniel Alegre becomes the new CEO of TelevisaUnivision

On Thursday afternoon, September 19, TelevisaUnivision announced new changes in its organizational chart. Now it has touched the highest part of the company, since Wade Davis He is no longer its CEO and his place will be taken by Daniel Alegrean executive with Latin roots who knows the Hispanic community in the United States very well.

The changes in the company’s management come just a few years after the merger of Televisa and Univision, an operation that was promoted by Wade Davis himself after his arrival to the post, as well as weeks after Jorge Ramos shared that his stay at the network had come to an end.

Daniel Alegre, of Mexican roots, has strong ties to the Hispanic community and extensive work experience in the United States, Mexico and Latin America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum lauded, from Princeton University, a Master’s Degree (MBA) from Harvard Business School and another Master of Laws (JD) from Harvard Law School.

Regarding his professional life, he is a seasoned executive with 30 years of global leadership focused on operations in the technology, digital platforms, e-commerce and entertainment sectors.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of FEMSAone of the leading global retailers of pharmaceutical products and commerce in Latin America, and the bottler of Coca-cola largest in the world.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Cinépolis, the largest cinema chain in Latin America and one of the largest in the world.

He also served as CEO of Yuga Labs (2023-24). Prior to joining Yuga Labs, he was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Activision Blizzard (2020-23), where he was responsible for all revenue management, game development, and leadership teams for the company’s major video game franchises.

His resume includes 16 years working at Google in multiple global leadership roles, including President of Global and Strategic Partnerships, where he was responsible for developing key relationships and accelerating revenue with partners around the world.
