The trial against Ruben Oseguera Gonzalezalias “The Little Menchito”continues in the District Court of Columbia in Washington DC, where new details are becoming known about the way in which the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
This time some chats in which the son of “The Mencho” via Blackberry devices, which were obtained by the DEA more than 10 years ago, and now serve as evidence against him.
According to the newspaper Milenio, the person in charge of disclosing these conversations was Kevin Novick, a DEA special agent assigned to the Oseguera González case, who detailed during his testimony that between 2013 and 2014 the anti-drug agency legally obtained several interceptions of communications 39 devices linked to the CJNG.
Among these communications it was learned that “El Menchito” used five identification pins, and used various nicknames such as Forrest Gump, Ice Man and Billy The Kid.
He spoke of kidnappings and revenge.
In some of these chats the accused maintained communication with his uncle. Abigael Gonzalez Valenciaalias “El Cuini”, leader of the bloodthirsty criminal group “Los Cuinis”.
In other conversations, “El Menchito” wrote to other CJNG operators about topics such as the kidnapping of a person or the monitoring of targets of interest to the cartel.
Even in one of the chats They discussed the rescue of a CJNG operator who had been kidnapped and torturedand later found at a local hospital. They also planned how revenge would be exacted against the attackers.
“Get everything ready to discharge those who went too far with the mime and that other brat,” wrote “El Cuini” in the conversation, to which “El Menchito” responded: “We are going to discharge the one we were talking about just now, right?”
Prior to the trial, Oseguera González’s defense had filed a motion to suppress these messages as part of the evidence, in which it demanded to know the reason why the interception of his uncle’s communications was allowed, as well as whether there was a legal reason for it.
