Shakira surprised her fans during a recent party in Miami, when she asked attendees to put their cell phones aside to enjoy the moment.
The 47-year-old Colombian singer attended the famous LIV Miami nightclub, where she performed her new single “Soltera” on an elevated platform, but at one point she seemed to notice something inappropriate among the attendees.
As seen in some videos circulating on social media, the singer briefly stopped her performance when she noticed that someone seemed to be recording under her skirt. Through various gestures she made it clear that she was not comfortable with the situation.
At one point, she points to her eyes, as if to say “I’m watching you,” and quickly holds up her skirt to prevent any inappropriate views. Even as the music continues, the visibly uncomfortable singer takes a few more steps before adjusting her skirt again and leaving the stage.
Shakira didn’t let the party be spoiled
Shakira later asked her fans to stop recording and put away their phones, encouraging them to enjoy the experience without worrying about capturing every moment on video. “Let’s focus on living in the present and enjoying the music”the artist was heard saying, according to some witnesses present at the scene.
The incident, which quickly went viral, did not stop Shakira from continuing to enjoy the night, where she was dancing and celebrating with a group of friends, among whom were celebrities such as Danna Paola, Winnie Harlow, Anitta and Lele Pons.
Were they recording inappropriate videos of Shakira?
Although some rumors claimed that a fan was trying to inappropriately record, sources close to the singer denied this information. It was clarified that the only videos authorized at the event were being recorded by her own work team, who were looking for content for their social networks.
Despite the distractions, the Colombian singer remains focused on her upcoming projects, including her world tour “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” which will begin in November and will be her first since her separation from former soccer player Gerard Piqué.
