Former LAFC player Giorgio Chiellini to take on managerial role at Juventus

The Italian Giorgio Chiellini, former player of the Juventus Turinwill once again be part of the club of his life in a management position, as head of institutional relations.

After conclude his career as a footballer at LAFC in the MLSwhere he played his last 18 months as a professional footballer, the defender who played 17 seasons with Juventus, including one in the second division, will live a new stage with “La Vecchia Signora” as of this Monday, the Turin club announced via social media.

“Giorgio Chiellini has never stopped being a ‘bianconero’. From September 16th he will wear the Juventus director’s shirt in the position of Head of Institutional Relations“, the team posted.

Chiellini, a graduate in Economics and Commerce and a doctor cum laude in Administration and Management, will work, according to the ‘Vecchia Signora’, directly under the orders of CEO Maurizio Scanavino.

Born in Pisa (Tuscany, north, 1984), he began his career at Livorno (2000-2004), moved to ‘Fiore’ (2004-2005) and made the jump to ‘Juve’ (2005-2022), where he exploded as a player, before serving a a season and a half at LAFC, during which time he won two titles with the Los Angeles team, an MLS Cup and a Supporters’ Shield.

The charismatic left-footed centre-back ended his long 23-year career as a professional footballer on 12 December 2023.

During his career in Europe he has accumulated an extensive list of achievements, including a Euro 2020 with the Italian national team, as well as 9 league championships, five Italian Cups and 3 Super Cups with ‘Juve’.
